Virginia year 2

Where to begin with this post?  When I started this blog I promised it would be a mini journal I would update every few months...considering my last post was over a year ago that obviously hasn't happened.  Life gets crazy and time gets away from us, an excuse I tell myself far too often.  But this past year has been such a wonderful adventure- I don't want to forget it.  So here I am with a quick recap:

Winter 2014 was a rough one on the East Coast, but spring finally came in April and we soaked up every second of the warm weather.  Literally.  We took 3 beach trips in May/June of 2014.  In May we flew down to Sanibel Island in Florida to enjoy beaches and sunshine with my family.  It was just what we needed coming off of a crazy/stressful first year of MBA school.  We returned to Cville and packed up our car a few days later to make the 6 hour drive to Myrtle Beach.  This trip was just the three of us, and it was amazing.  The East Coast really knows what they are doing when it comes to beaches.  Coming from Northern California, we were used to taking a jacket with us every time we went down to Santa Cruz.  Not the case here.  Sunny skies, warm temps, and perfect sand for miles.  After Myrtle Beach we packed up once again and flew to Utah.  After a couple of weeks Kyle made the drive down to Dallas to begin his internship with Bain & Co.  I was able to fly out to Cape Cod (Caleb free) and meet Kyle before he began his training there.  After this I returned to Utah, and Caleb and I spent most of the summer with family.  Having our little family separated was so much harder than we anticipated, but we made it through the summer (we did fly back and forth a few times).  In August Caleb and I flew to meet Kyle in Dallas for the last 10 days of his internship and explore the area a little bit.  At the end of his internship,  Kyle was given a full time offer we happily accepted.  Our family will return to Dallas and Kyle will start work with Bain this summer after graduation.

We returned to Charlottesville in late August, just in time for Kyle to begin second year.  Fall is easily my favorite time of year in Cville, and I would bet most people who have spent time here would agree with me.  We tried to enjoy every minute of it since we knew it would be our last  In October we rented a beach house with 9 other grad school couples in the Outer Banks. We lucked out with amazing weather (rare for October) and did everything from donut runs (Duck Donuts = best donuts ever) to night games after the kids were in bed. Such a fun week.  In December our sweet Caleb turned 2.  So crazy! Not sure where the time has gone, or how our baby is now a little boy.  These past few months have been so much fun with him.  He is talking up a storm and growing up so much.  Another highlight of December would be our trip to Mexico.  We met up with our brother and sister in-law and their two year old to spend the week in Playa Del Carmen.  Seriously so fun.  Caleb had a blast playing with his cousin and we loved exploring the town and having a break from the cold winter weather.

January up until now has been pretty low key.  Lots of cold weather days and inside activities.  When we do get nice weather, we try to take advantage and do something fun/outside.  The weather is starting to warm up- finally! Kyle only has class 2 days a week this semester so we are trying to take advantage of as much family time as possible before life gets crazy with work/baby #2.

Baby #2, a small detail I didn't mention.  We found out in early January we are expecting our 2nd baby! Baby is due early September and we are thrilled.  We find out the gender April 24th (I will be 21 weeks).

Alright that pretty much catches us up. I glossed over a lot but what can you do?  The next few months consist of graduating, house hunting, packing/moving, graduation trip to Hawaii (can't wait for that one), and getting settled into our new life in Dallas.  Hopefully I will be better about updating.  A few pics from this past fall/winter below..
